The Václav Havel Library is gradually gathering, digitizing, and making accessible written materials, photographs, sound recordings and other materials linked to the person of Václav Havel.

Current statistics:

  • The number of events and documents together processed to date is 66653.
  • The number of events in the VH's life processed to date is 23875.
  • The number of VH's texts processed to date is 2992.
  • The number of photos processed to date is 2124.
  • The number of videos processed to date is 387.
  • The number of audios processed to date is 567.
  • The number of letters processed to date is 6602.
  • The number of texts about VH processed to date is 15101.
  • The number of books processed to date is 8124.
  • The number of bibliography records processed to date is 38477.

Access to the database of the VHL’s archives is free and possible after registering as a user. Accessing archival materials that exist in an unreadable form is only possible at the reading room of the Václav Havel Library, Ostrovní 13, 110 00 Prague 1, every Tuesday (except state holidays) from 9:00 to 17:00, or by prior appointment.
